Within the framework of the Unintegra Project, together with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an Intercultural Mediation workshop of 15 hours has been organized, distributed in 3 sessions (5 hours each): on October 27, the 3 November and 10 November.
The workshop provides a comprehensive training of the theory and practice of Intercultural Mediation aimed at the needs of humanitarian professionals and volunteers that support refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable groups in Greece or in transit.
The learning modules of the workshop will be:
The foundations of human migration, refugees and the legal framework
Principles of social identity and cultural diversity
Socialization, conflict resolution and social inclusion
Psychological well-being and socio-emotional health of refugees
Communication and interpretation in the context of intercultural mediation
Practice of cultural mediation in the reality of refugees
The workshop will be taught by social psychologist Patricia Gerakopoulou. It is open to everyone and is of special interest to those who work with refugees. It is specially addressed, but not exclusively, to mediators, practitioners of NGOs, volunteers, refugees, researchers and students.
