This weekend, a new Xeflis-UNINTEGRA team has been added to Serres to support Lifting Hands International in the activities of psycho-social character with children, young people and women with diabetes.
The Serres field is the only one exclusively inhabited by people in this community. It is currently at the limit of its capabilities.
The arrival of the volunteers, in Cesc and Marc, began with a session of exchanging experiences with a group of volunteers in Athens, who have moved to receive them and know the context of refugees in northern Greece.
At the LHI welcome session they broke the ice, they talked about expectations and fears, and, above all, motivation! They also gave presentations on the iazidita community, and the sociopolitical-humanitarian context in Greece and globally.
The first activities of the team were community development by participating in the organization of community festivities. In Cesc and Marc they will develop a psychosocial support project through sport with young people. They will also provide logistical support to the store and the distribution of non-food products (NFI).
We thank LHI, Cesc and Marc for the light that they give off and for their motivation and determination, to Ariadna and Irene for their willingness to move, and to Erika from ACSAR for accompanying them.
We continue to help this community!
